Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of MyShell, the website at myshell.app, and related services operated by Myshell.app (“we”, “us”). By downloading, installing, or using MyShell, you agree to these Terms and our Refund Policy.
License grant
MyShell is commercial software. A 7-day free trial lets you evaluate the app without payment. After the trial, a lifetime license is required to continue using the app.
A lifetime license grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to install and use MyShell on up to three (3) Mac computers that you own or control, including future app updates delivered through the in-app updater or manual download.
You may not:
- Redistribute, sublicense, or resell MyShell or license keys
- Reverse engineer the app except where permitted by applicable law
- Circumvent licensing or activation limits
- Use MyShell for unlawful purposes
Cloud + AI subscription
An optional subscription adds encrypted cloud sync and hosted AI. The subscription requires an active lifetime license. BYOK (bring your own API key) AI features are included with the lifetime license and do not require a subscription.
Subscriptions renew monthly or annually until cancelled. Cancel anytime from the customer portal linked in your purchase receipt or in MyShell license settings. Cancellation stops future charges but does not refund the current billing period. Cloud + AI is $8/month or $79/year and requires an active lifetime license.
Purchases and refunds
Online purchases are processed by our payment partners (Paddle and/or Lemon Squeezy), who act as merchant of record for card payments. Lifetime licenses are $39 (one-time). Cloud + AI is an optional subscription at $8/month or $79/year. Purchase through the checkout buttons on our website or contact support@myshell.app. We will send your license key by email after a successful lifetime purchase.
MyShell offers a 7-day free trial with no payment required and a 14-day money-back guarantee on paid purchases. See our Refund Policy for full details, including how to request a refund and subscription cancellation terms.
Your data and responsibilities
MyShell runs local shells and SSH sessions with your user privileges. You are responsible for commands you run, SSH credentials you configure, and data stored on your Mac or remote hosts. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle personal data.
Disclaimer of warranties
MyShell is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, compatibility with every SSH host, or fitness for a particular purpose. Terminal and SSH work carries inherent risk — use caution with production systems.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Myshell.app is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including data loss, downtime, or lost profits, arising from your use of MyShell. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for your license in the twelve months before the claim.
Updates
We may release updates that add, change, or remove features. Lifetime licenses include updates delivered through the in-app auto-updater or manual download from our website.
Termination
We may revoke a license if you violate these Terms. You may stop using MyShell at any time by uninstalling the app. Local data on your Mac remains yours.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be noted on the website.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction where Myshell.app operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
